Days of the Oka Nature Reserve in the park “Our Orekhovo”

On January 29, 2022, a unique ice exhibition symbolizing the wildlife of the Oka State Biosphere Reserve opened at the recreation park “Our Orekhovo”.

Visitors viewed ice sculptures of rare animals found in the reserve: European bison, beaver, owl, wild boat, snake, and crane — the main symbol of the Oka Reserve.

The exhibition was created by the Ryazan sculptures and aimed to emphasize the uniqueness of Ryazan nature and the diversity of its wildlife.

 

The schedule included:

– Husky dog sledding.

– Ice carving workshop.

– Tug of war, weightlifting, and other competitions with prizes from the partners of the event

– A unique Fire Show and festive fireworks!

 

The event was attended by over 1,000 people!

 

Among the honored guests of the event were: President of the Ryazan Region Hockey Federation Oleg Smirnov, President of the “Sports Veterans” Foundation for Sports Support and Development Alexander Starostin, Vasily Pervukhin, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, 1984 Olympic champion, six-time world champion; Yuri Markin, Director of the Oka Federal Biosphere Reserve; Sergey Babariko, Master of Sports of the USSR.

It’s worth mentioning that at the meeting of the famous hockey players and the organizer of the event, the head of the Museum and Educational Complex “Our Orekhobo” a decision was made to hold a hockey tournament, featuring the best youth and junior hockey teams of Moscow, it is scheduled to take place on February 23, 2022, at the “Our Orekhovo” ice rink.
