Moscow Military-Patriotic Club “Battalion” participates in the opening ceremony of the monument in the village of Orekhovo

On September 2, 2021, an opening ceremony of the renovated monument to the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War will take place in Orekhovo village, Spassky district, Ryazan region. Among the participants is the ‘Moscow Military-Patriotic Club “Battalion”‘ Union, which was created in 2005 by joint efforts of people of various professions and generations, united by a common idea.

The main objectives of the club are to preserve the memory of the Great Victory over fascism and to revive the national identity and pride. The club members restored military equipment, uniforms, everyday objects and reconstructed the events of the Great Patriotic War in order to pass on the historical truth of the wartime to the past generations. The ‘”Battalion” Moscow Military-Patriotic Club’ Union has united the Krasnoznamensk Military Search Party “Red Banner” and Youth Club “Squadron” under the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The club is a member of DOSAAF Russia, and the head of the “Battalion” Yu.L.Moskvin is on the board of trustees of the Moscow House of the Great Patriotic War Veterans.

Every year, the club takes part in a solemn marching on Red Square dedicated to the military parade of November 7, 1941. The “Battalion” Club also participates in many military history festivals in Russia and the EU.

At the request of the administration of Orekhovo settlement, Spassky district, Ryazan Region, the “Battalion” club will take part in the opening ceremony of the renovated monument to the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War. The “Battalion” will display a 45-mm anti-tank gun model 1941 and museum exhibits, the club members will wear military uniforms and bring Mosin rifles to commemorate the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War by a gun salute.
