On June 13 – July 20, the art gallery Dias hosts an exhibition Dedicated to My Favorite City, presenting paintings and graphics by artists from the Irkutsk region and other Russian cities.

A favorite city is a city where you spent your childhood and youth. And for some people, it’s the city of their dreams, a place where they want to live and create. To visit it again and again…

There is a small city on the map of our country, warm and cozy, the dearest to our hearts — our Irkutsk, the center of the earth.

Irkutsk land is the land of snowstorms and blizzards, mosquitoes and gnats, lakes and swamps, burbling rivers, berry forests, wheat fields, it’s enchanting, always different, and bizarre. Thanks to our artists, it is now portrayed in their paintings.

Regina Prisyazhnikova, Alexander Imedeev, Vladislav Urbakhanov, Sergey Zhilin, and other Irkutsk artists, as well as Sergey Bryukhanov from Moscow, Genghiskhan Khasaev from Grozny, Nelly Akchurina from Ufa – captured the beauty of the Irkutsk land in their artworks, painted on the shores of Lake Baikal and in the Irkutsk region.

Cities are like people. Each has its own destiny, face, and character.

And Irkutsk is different for everyone, but always the most familiar and wonderful.

Dedicated to my favorite city…
