The Association of Private Museums of Russia has released the first series of the film “Gold nuggets of Russia”

From September 7 to 8, in Sokolniki, the exhibition “Private Museums of Russia. Gold nuggets of Russia” was held on a grand scale. The author of the project and the director of the Association of Private Museums of Russia, Alexei Shaburov, managed to collect under one roof more than a hundred private collections with their owners from all over the country – from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka. The project was supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and the Minister of Culture of Russia Vladimir Medinsky came to the opening of the exhibition. In 3 days the exhibition was visited by 30,000 people.

It all started three years ago. Then the staff at Sokolniki began to prepare for expeditions, the purpose of which was the search for the most interesting private museums. In the course of painstaking work, an electronic catalog was formed. Each page of this catalog had to be personally verified. For this, several groups of travelers set off across the expanses of the Motherland.

The first series of the film tells about three unique Russian private museums – the museum of the manufacturer Dumnov from the village of Zarechye, the Kovrov Motorcycle Museum “Moto Kovrov”, the “Emalis” Museum from Yaroslavl. Each of them is unique in its own way, each exhibits unique show pieces, some of which are impossible to find anywhere else in the world.
