The Vyatskoye Historical and Cultural Complex. Named after E.A. Ankudinova founder Oleg Zharov was the general producer of the Only Loko! feature film about the Lokomotiv hockey team that died in a plane crash. The film will be released in March 2021, in the year of the decade since the tragedy near Yaroslavl, when a plane with athletes flying from Tunoshna airport to Minsk for the first match of the season crashed to the ground during take-off.
The Only Loko! film will transfer viewers to the days before and the day after a terrible plane crash. According to Oleg Zharov, this film is about hockey, about hockey players, about the Lokomotiv team through the eyes of the fans, relatives, and friends. “We know how relatives relate to this situation. And therefore, we can say with full confidence that the relatives of the victims and the fans of Lokomotiv are full fledged co-authors of this film,” says Oleg Zharov.
According to the plot, the film characters meet in the Moscow – Minsk train. All of them are going to the same match on September 8, which will never take place. On the way they discuss the team, players, relatives and loved ones. It is through the prism of their connection with the team that the main characters, the hockey players, will be shown, they will also appear in the game scenes, but the viewer will not see the faces of the actors playing the athletes, they will be filmed from the back so that it looks naturally and according to the documentary chronicle, that will be a lot in the film.
The film will be directed by Vladimir Alenikov. Filming will take place before the end of August. Famous actors will take part in it: Irina Rozanova, Alexey Guskov, Sergey Batalov, Anna Ukolova, Andrey Merzlikin, Nikita Volkov, Kirill Pletnev, as well as many young actors for whom this will be a film debut.
