TV channels of Arkhangelsk reported on opening of the House of the Pinezhsky Spinning Wheels in the Kargopory Village

In May 2020, the Regional and Ethnographic Museum of Viktor and Galina Merzlykh in the village of Karpogory, Pinezhsky district of the Arkhangelsk region, opened the House of the Pinezhsky Spinning Wheels, where they highlight such an ancient craft as weaving – from growing and processing linen to manufacturing products.

The House of the Pinezhsky Spinning Wheels is a real village hut, which Viktor Merzlykh built himself next to his house in order to accommodate a museum collection in it. There are more than 60 spinning wheels of the 19th – 20th centuries, decorated with carvings and paintings, an old loom, and unique items of peasant life. All exhibits are collected in the Pinezhsky region.

More details on the opening of the House of the Pinezhsky Spinning Wheel can be found in the episodes by TV channels “Russia 1”, State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company “Pomorye” and “Region 29”.
